• Question: Why do our feet smell when they sweat?

      Hey kingfisher30,

      This one is easy… When our feet get hot, they sweat to cool down. Our sweat is made from salt and water and does not really smell at all.

      However, bacteria likes to feed on the salty watery sweat and when it does it gives off waste products that cause the smell.

      So next time someone says… “Yuk, your feet smell!”

      You can say back to them “It’s not me, it was the bacteria!”
