Wow 12345giraffie, that’s actually quite a tough question to answer.
Although all the engineers on this site have different jobs and do quite different things, you’ll see some key things that are the same.
We all apply science to solve problems. We all develop new ideas.
So…an engineer is a person who uses science to solve problems and generate new ideas.
What would you say an engineer is?

      Hey 12345giraffie,

The Oxford English Dictionary states than an Engineer is “a person who designs, builds, or maintains engines, machines, or structures.”

I think definition is very true and to the point, the only difference for the Engineers in this Health Zone is that we are working on the human body and fixing organs (our engines), muscles (machines that do work) and the skeleton (structure that holds us together)!

The human body is probably the most complicated machine of all and the most amazing thing is that it was made by nature and evolution…. there’s a looooong way to go before we’ll understand all of it!
