      Hey Kingfishers,

We burp for many different reasons, the most normal one is that when we eat and our bodies digest food and gases are produced. These gases are not harmful. So rather than the gas remaining trapped on our bodies (like a balloon!) we vent that gas.

Burping is a bit like opening a window to the stomach! Well that’s what you can tell mum and dad next time they here you doing it.

Remember: It’s better out than in!

      🙂

Burping is caused by air being released from our stomach. This usually occurs because we’ve swallowed air whilst drinking or eating – and why we often burp after having a fizzy drink!
