Question: what are people's reactions to you being an engineer? Do alot of people think its only really males who are engineer's???

  Great question!
  Some people do still seem to think engineering is a male job, although I have to say it seems to depend on age. People that are my parents age (50-60+) seem to be far more surprised by what I do than people my own age and younger, so I think perception is changing.
  I think the big issue is some people really don’t understand what engineering is and so assume it’s only for men. I do a lot of science fairs and schools activities to show that engineering is a really interesting area for everyone to get involved with – not just men or women!
  Do you think engineering is something you’d like to do?
